Hum (2019)

Hum consists of 15 landscapes that I shot in my hometown Orimattila. By generating random locations and shooting directions, I avoided choosing places that have meaning for me.

The title refers to the continuous humming of engines and machinery that takes over the landscape. It also refers to my way of humming nervously when I'm in remote or private areas.

The subtitles reflect my thoughts during the process. As well as a small town study, Hum is an examination of myself and an attempt to lessen subjectivity in my way of working.
